Leftover Feelings

A meditation on the experience of anger and femininity. Female anger has been suppressed for decades. We are called dramatic, a bitch and told to not overreact when we show even the slightest sliver of anger. We are told to count to 10, stay calm and take a deep breath while we actually want to scream. I think anger can be a very telling emotion and deserves to be felt; it shows you your boundaries and the areas you’d want to see change. I want to create space for non-men to express this emotion, to embrace the dramatic and sensitive without having to give up your femininity.
